The 20909/S Pump features a throat that curves gently in a subtle detail reminiscent of a loafer, while the unstructured heel cup provides superior comfort by immediately molding to your heel. As an added bonus, the soft heel cup can be stepped on, turning this style into a mule. Deer leather is an incredibly soft and moldable material, with superior breathability, and a longevity and durability that few other leathers can surpass, even after repeatedly getting wet and drying again.
Deer skin is easy to maintain as long as you don't over condition it. The open nature of the surface of our leather means that a too-heavy conditioner will clog the surface, defeating the best features of this leather.
/. For oil stains: Use baby powder or corn starch to absorb the oils, letting the powder sit for some time, before using a soft brush to remove the excess powder.
/. For dirt: Remove dirt with a damp clean cloth. For optimal leather function and look, it's best to not let the dirt accumulate in layers, as it will be harder to remove. Stubborn stains can be cleaned with a bit of mild soap and water, with a soft damp cloth. Afterwards gently blot up any excess moisture, and leave to dry in a cool indoors place.
/. For conditioning: Use a lightweight leather milk conditioner or liniment, applying it in thin coats with a clean dry cloth. Always test your conditioner on a small discreet part of the shoe and allow it to dry, making sure there are no adverse reactions, before applying it on the entire surface.
/. For outsole + heel care: The outsoles can be cleaned with a dry brush and damp cloth. Use the damp cloth to wipe away dirt. If worn on very wet days, allow the outsole to dry in a cool location, do not dry over a heater. When the heel lifts are worn down, they can be easily replaced at your local cobbler with the included replacement heel lifts.
